Hancock, W. Daniel

A graduate student in the Department of History at the University of North Texas, W. Daniel Hancock wrote his master’s thesis, entitled The Congressional and Political Career of John Hancock 1865-1885 (1996). Before being elected to the Texas Legislature in 1860, John Hancock (1824-1893) practiced law in Austin, Texas, and served as district judge of the Second Judicial District.
