Turner, H. H. (Herbert Hall), 1861-1930
Variant namesAstronomer and seismologist; Fellow of the Royal Society; Savilian Professor of Astronomy, Oxford, from 1893 until his death. As well as directing the teaching and research of the University Observatory, Oxford, Turner was a promoter of international freiedships and collaboration in astronomy, and after 1913 continued the important seismological work of John Milne.
