Cooper, William Bryant, 1866-1959.
William Bryant Cooper (1866-1959), merchant of Wilmington, N.C., served as lieutenant governor of North Carolina in the administration of Governor Cameron Morrison, 1921-1925. Bryant was born in Horry County, S.C., and moved to New Hanover County, N.C., at an early age. He was elected to the state Senate in 1915 and 1919. He also had a general mercantile business in Wilmington. He married Ada Gore in 1893.
