William Mackey Cruikshank (b. Nov. 7, 1870-d. Feb. 23, 1943), U.S. Army officer, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1893. He was Adjutant of the 1st Division, having served with the Field Artillery at Santiago, Cuba, and later commanded the 15th Field Artillery Regiment in the 2nd Division, the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade in the 3rd Division, and the Artillery of the IV Corps. At the end of World War I, he remained in the Army of Occupation in Germany and returned to the U.S. with one of his wartime commands, the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade of the 3rd Division. He ended his career as Commanding General of the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, retiring in 1934.
