Snuggs, Edward Thomas, 1860-1938.
Southern Baptist missionary to China, 1904-1912 and 1914-1935. Snuggs was a controversial figure, in sympathy with J. Frank Norris. He came into conflict with other missionaries and the Foreign Mission Board, and was sent to a separate mission, the Pakhoi Mission, South China. Snuggs attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Faith Mary Snuggs worked with her parents in Pakhoi from 1922 to 1935. After his resignation from the FMB, Snuggs joined the China Baptist Evangelization Mission, Fort Bayard, South China.
