Albert de Neufville (1896-1981) emigrated from Germany after World War II, and came to Lehigh University to teach, while earning his Ph. D. in Civil Engineering there in 1952. He retired from the University as associate professor of mechanics in 1966.

De Neufville was a post-World War II immigrant from Germany who came to Lehigh University in 1948 as an instructor of mechanics while studying for his Ph. D. in civil engineering. After receiving his doctorate in 1952 he became assistant professsor of mechanics until his retirement in 1966.
