Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends. Advisory Committee.
The meeting house was built in Atlantic City, N.J., in 1872. Ownership of the property was vested in a trust; if the property were to be sold, proceeds were to go either to the building of a new meeting house in Atlantic City or to Westtown school. A school was opened on the site by 1900; the school ran into serious financial difficulties in the early 1970's. It moved to Smithville, N.J. in 1979 and changed it's name to Atlantic Friends School. It moved again to Northfield after 1984.
