Knox County, Indiana was organized by Winthrop Sargent on 20 June 1790. The county encompassed a huge amount of land in the beginning but the boundaries gradually shrank until 1816 when it reached its current size. The county seat is Vincennes and has been home to many politicians during its history. The most famous being William Henry Harrison, the ninth President of the United States.
