Hide Profile

Following a request from the Pakistani government in 1956 the Ford Foundation asked Oklahoma State University (OSU) to assist Pakistan with a nationwide program of home economics education. A survey team from the OSU College of Home Economics visited East and West Pakistan for ten weeks in early 1957. In 1958 OSU entered an official agreement with the Ford Foundation and the Government of Pakistan to provide: faculty, advisory, and consultant services to the colleges; fellowships for Pakistan women to study home economics in the United States; books and equipment not available in Pakistan; and other requested and required services. The program was officially terminated in 1972.
