South Dakota Farm Bureau Federation.

Hide Profile

The South Dakota Farm Bureau Federation is one of the oldest farmers' organizations in South Dakota. Since 1917, it has actively promoted farming in South Dakota through the county groups which make up the federation, the state organization, and associated companies. In its earliest years, the Farm Bureau was closely connected to the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service, with county extension agents serving as Farm Bureau agents. This formal connection ended in the 1930's, and today the South Dakota Farm Bureau is an independent organization that works on legislative and economic issues related to farming.
