Charles Niepoth began working for Ford Motor Company in 1911 in the pattern shop. In 1934 he was named superintendent of the Dearborn Engineering Laboratories. Niepoth worked closely with Henry Ford on the first Ford V-8 engine and he worked on many experimental components including the five-cylinder engine, an air-cooled engine, and an iron cylinder casting. In 1950 he became assistant manager of the Building and Facilities Department. Neipoth retired in 1954.
