Sons of Temperance of North America. Oswego County, New York.
The Sons of Temperance were initially organized in 1842 in New York City and gradually became a national movement in the decade that followed. The organizations primary objective was to help reform male alcoholics by providing support to the men and their families during rehabilitation. This fraternal society was belived to have been established in Oswego County by the late 1840's.
