Evangelical Lutheran Ministerium of Pennsylvania and the Adjacent States. Special Conference.
In 1812, a special conference of the Pennsylvania Ministerium was established to cope with the growing numnber of members in Western Pennsylvania. At the sixth general conference in 1816, it was decided that the conference would petition the ministerium for permission to form a separate body. In 1818, the Joint Synod of Ohio was formed.
