Plumb family.
Frederick B. Plumb, Jr., was born in Litchfield, Connecticut, on 6 February 1913. His father, Frederick B. Plumb, Sr., spent his life working as a dairy farmer, and the younger Frederick followed in his father's footsteps. As members of The Grange, 4-H, and a variety of other organizations, Frederick, Jr., and his wife, Marian Newton Plumb, were active in the agricultural community throughout their lives. In addition to helping on the family farm and actively participating in The Grange, Marian Plumb also taught in grammar schools in Kent and Litchfield.
