Baer, Donald G., 1915-
Variant namesDonald G. Baer was born July 4, 1915, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, and received his commission as Ensign in 1937. He commanded the USS Fulton in 1957 and 1958, and from 196 to 1967, he commanded the U.S. Naval Base at Subic Bay in the Philippines. He reached the rank of rear admiral in 1965. He commanded Submarine Flotilla 6 in 1966 and 1967, and retired from Navy service in 1970.
