Bayen, Dorothy Hadley.

Dorothy Hadley, an Evanston, Illinois resident and daughter of a waterworks laborer, graduated from Evanston High School. She attended Northwestern University before transferring to Howard University in Washington, D.C. She met Prince Malaku Bayen, a medical student at Howard University and nephew of Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia. The couple married in 1931. Upon graduation, they moved to Ethiopia where the prince became personal physician to his uncle.
