Billingsley, Edward Baxter, 1910-1997.
Edward B. Billingsley, U.S. Naval officer, was born in Melbourne, Arkansas on June 18, 1910. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1932, received an M.A. from Northwestern University in 1947 and a Ph.D. in Latin American History from the University of North Carolina in 1964. He served in the Navy, retiring in 1959 as a rear admiral. In retirement he taught at the University of South Florida for thirteen years. He died September 3, 1997.
