Edwin R. Reynolds was principal of Albion Academy, Orleans County, N.Y., for six years and county superintendent between 1843 and 1845. He was admitted to the bar in 1843 and commenced practice in Albion, N.Y., in 1846. Reynolds was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Republican to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Silas M. Burroughs and served from December 5, 1860, to March 3, 1861. He later was judge and surrogate of Orleans County (1864-1868).
