Ada Wilde was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1891. She moved to Prineville, Oregon in 1915 to teach, after receiving her teaching degree from Missouri State College. In 1922, she married Dr. Emil G. Ausplund, and a year later she had a daugher. She began Reed College in 1925 and graduated in 1928. She was a longtime volunteer with cultural organziations in the Portland area.
