Mabel Halarkenden Hall was born Septmber 5, 1873 in New Haven, Connecticut, the daughter of George Duffield and Lucertia Hall. She died May 26, 1945 in Plainfield, Sullivan, New Hampshire. She married October 22, 1895 to Winston C. Churchill, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Both Mabel's mother and grandmother worked in support of suffrage. In 1913, Mabel was a member of the executive committee of the New Hampshire Woman Suffrage Association.
