Harper family.
Alexander Harper was the fourth son of Alexander and Elizabeth Bartholomew Harper, who in 1798 established the town of Harpersfield in what is now Ashtabula County, Ohio. His son, Edward Harper, married Betsey Mann in 1838. A complete biographical sketch of the Harper family is included in the register to MS. 3231 Harper Family Papers, Western Reserve Historical Society.
