Resnick, Michael D.
Variant namesMike Resnick (1942- ), a prolific author of Science Fiction novels and short stories, began his career in 1957 and since then, has written a plethora of novels, short stories and articles, many under various pseudonyms. In addition, he has edited tabloid newspapers, a number of science fiction anthologies, and two men’s magazines. He also writes short non-fiction and is a regular columnist for The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.
Resnick’s most widely recognized works include The Soul Eater, Walpurgis III, the Tales of the Galactic Midway series, Santiago, and The Widowmaker series. Resnick is most noted, however, for the “Kirinyaga” series, which, with 51 major and minor awards and nominations to date, is the most honored series of stories in the history of science fiction.
A highly regarded author, editor, and critic, Resnick has received numerous Hugo Awards and Nebula Awards, as well as a Clarke (British), Seiun-shos (Japanese), Homer Awards, an Alexander Award, a Golden Pagoda Award, a Hayakawa SF Award, a Locus Award, and has topped the S. F. Chronicle poll at least five times.
