Herbert W. Albrecht, a farmer in Fairbank, Buchanan County, Iowa, was a member of the National Farmers Organization (NFO). Founded in Corning, Iowa in 1955, the NFO grew out of drought and low livestock prices. Unlike many other farm organizations, its membership is only open to farmers. The NFO works to promote price contracts, target prices, and collective bargaining.
