Mary Ann Collinge was an Extension Specialist in Music for Michigan State College in the 1930s and 1940s. During this time, she directed many music festivals featuring elementary school students from rural school systems in Michigan. She taught music education courses at MSC during the summer of 1935. Collinge was a native of Minnesota. She held a B.M. degree in music and prior to MSC she served as Director of Grade Music in Virginia, Minnesota from 1930-1931. She married Robert W. Starring, a professor at MSC who died in 1989.
