Franklin Samuel (Frank) Hatch was born in Chelsea, Vermont, on August 12, 1846. He graduated from Phillips Academy in 1869, Amherst College in 1873, and Hartford Theological Seminary around 1876. He served as pastor of West Hartford, Connecticut Congregational Church from 1876-1883; Colchester, Connecticut from 1886-1887; Monson, Massachusetts from 1887-1900; Newton, Massachusetts from 1904-1907; Middleboro, Massachusetts, 1907. He died December 24, 1907. Hatch was married to Helen Gage on October 29, 1879. They had two children, Caroline and Leonard (1882-1969).
