Arizona businessman and land developer.
Fred Eldean was born in Moline, Illinois. After attending the University of Missouri, he worked at various jobs, including one in the petroleum industry, and sereved as assistant to the chairman of the board of General Motors. He moved to Arizona in 1945, and settled in Scottsdale. He soon became involved in buying and developing land, eventually owning the Page Land Company. He arranged land deals which were the basis for the Fountain Hills development, and the retention of Ellis Island, N.Y., for public use.
