Revolutionary War soldier from Dracut, Mass.; farmer and cooper in Dracut and later in Canaan, N.H.

Pilsberry served in Capt. Joseph Bradley Varnum's Dracot company of volunteers in Col. Jonathan Reed's regiment (6th Middlesex County regiment of Massachusetts militia). He joined Sept. 29, 1777, and marched Oct. 1 from Dracut to Saratoga in time to witness Burgoyne's surrender on Oct. 17. The regiment guarded British prisoners on the return march from Stillwater, N.Y. to Charlestown, Mass., where the soldiers were discharged. Pilsberry returned home to Dracut on Nov. 8, 1777.
