Powell, Paulus P.

Paulus Powell was born at Woodview, Virginia on April 25, 1892. He attended Danville High School and Randolph Macon College, Ashland, Virginia, before his appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, in 1909 from his native state. After graduation he was commissioned as an Ensign in 1913, and subsequently progressed in rank until his appointment to Commodore, October 20, 1944. He was transferred to the Retired List of the U.S. Navy on January 1, 1947, in the rank of Rear Admiral.
