Ober was a New York City journalist who worked as the society editor for the newspaper New York World, 1890s-1931. She also contributed to the Sunday World Magazine, the Herald, and Harper's Bazaar. She was a president and charter member of the new York Newspaper Women's Club and a chairman of New York's Town Hall Club.
