Francis Elmer Bradshaw received a B.A. degree from the College of Wooster in 1887 and a M.A. degree from Vanderbilt in 1893. He did graduate work in classics at Yale from 1893-1894. He died of typhoid in October, 1895.

Margaret Rooker Bradshaw was born in Delaware County, Missouri, on March 8, 1866. She received a B.A. degree from Hardin College and a M.A. degree from Vanderbilt in 1893. Following the death of her husband in 1895, Bradshaw taught at Brookfield College until 1900. She attended Yale University and completed her Ph.D. in 1902. From 1902 until 1930 Bradshaw taught English at Smith College. She died on September 27, 1936.
