William Sederburg was born on Aug. 1, 1947 in Chadron, Neb. The Sederburg family resided in Lincoln, Neb. and then in Mankato, Minn. He attended Mankato State Coolege, graduating magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in education in 1969 and obtained a postgraduate degree in political science from Michigan State University. He joined the staff of Michigan State University as a professor of political science. In 1978 he was elected as a Republican to represent the 24th District. He was a very influential voice in the legislature, especially in the areas of health care and education. He chose not to run again and resigned in Jan. of 1990. He accepted a position as Vice President for Public Policy with the Public Sector Consultants, Inc., and also returned to teaching political science at Michigan State University. He married his wife, Joyce, in 1972 and has a son, Matthew and a daughter, Kari.
