Joan Rothschild was a co-founder of the Women's Studies Program at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, where she was on the faculty for more than 20 years. She was instrumental in establishing the field of gender and technology and is now research associate at the Center for Human Environments at the Graduate School of the City University of New York where she heads the project on feminism, design, and technology.
