Alliance for Labor Action
Formed in 1969 as an alternative organization to the AFL-CIO. The attempt by the Alliance to rival the AFL-CIO was unsuccessful and the organization disbanded in 1971.

The Alliance for Labor Action (ALA) was formed in 1969 as an alternative organization to the AFL-CIO and to promote social concerns. Member organizations included the United Automobile Workers, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and other unions working autonomously. The ALA dissolved in 1971 by mutual agreement of the member unions.
