Lifar, Serge, 1905-
Variant namesSerge Lifar (1905-1986) was a Ukranian-born French dancer and choreographer. Igor Markevitch (1912-1983) was a Russian-born French composer and conductor. Both were Serge Diaghilev's protégées: Serge Lifar became leading dancer for the Ballets Russes; Igor Markevitch was the youngest composer ever to work for ballet.
