Crescent Silver Company.
The Crescent Silver Company, also known as the Crescent Silver Mining Company, was based in Cinncinnati, Ohio and operated mines in Colorado. Title to the company's property was sold due to financial difficulties in 1874 to Charles Mendenhall (formerly president of the Crescent Silver Co.) who created the Stevens Mining Company to mine this property. William Mendenhall served as agent for the Crescent Silver Co, and later with his uncle Cyrus Mendenhall was agent for the Stevens Mining Company. cf. Ellis, E.H., The saga of Upper Clear Creek, 1983, pp. 96-101.
