Charleston, South Carolina bookseller, stationer, and Confederate veteran. A. Baron Holmes was elected a delegate to represent Palmetto Guard Camp No. 315 at the state reunion and convention in 1899.

Charleston, South Carolina bookseller, stationer, and Confederate veteran. The Palmetto Guard of Charleston was a volunteer militia company organized in 1851. During the Civil War Confederate military units were formed out of the Palmetto Guard. After the war A. Baron Holmes is listed as an officer of this Confederate veteran organization.
