In 1913, George Burke purchased the Rea farm in Ops Township after leasing it since 1897. Huber Burke was George Burke's son and was a bee-keeper and maple syrup producer. Gordon Burke is Huber Burke's son. The property remained in the Burke name until Aug. 1973, when it was sold.
