Stephens, Lauren, 1980-
Stephens was fascinated by deaf culture and sign language since she was a child and enrolled in several American Sign Language classes while attending Brigham Young University. She later served an eighteen-month proselytizing mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, during which she was assigned to preach to the Deaf.
