Persis Hopkins Forster was born in 1929, in Port Arthur, Texas. When Persis was three, her family moved to Fort Worth where she attended school. Later, she attended North Texas Agricultural College and the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a degree in Radio and Television in 1951. After a short time in New York City, Persis moved back to Arlington, Texas, where she met and married Jerry Forster and raised their two children, Persis Ann and Kim. Since 1954, Persis has owned Miss Persis Dance Studio where she has taught dance. She has been very active in the Arlington cultural community.
