Aitken, John.
Variant namesJohn Aitken (Aikin) was born in Dulheath, Scotland. He was active as a cabinetmaker in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from ca. 1790 to ca. 1800. He worked in partnership with William Cocks in the early 1790s in the firm Cocks & Co. Aitken made a number of pieces for George Washington in February and March, 1797.
