Hickman, Alma
Alma Hickman was born on July 4, 1887 in Stone County, Mississippi. She was among the first faculty members at the University of Southern Mississippi when it opened as Mississippi Normal College in 1912. She taught English at the school until she retired in 1954. She died on February 12, 1971.
