The Sparrow family lived in Davidson. Their house was on North Main Street. The small brick house/summer kitchen on their original property remains a part of the Davidson campus (near Belk dormitory). Patrick Sparrow was one of the original faculty members of Davidson College. He taught Latin and Greek from 1837 to 1840. His brother, Thomas, owned a store in Davidson and was active in the Presbyterian church.
