Ely, Joseph J.
Lawyer, of central New Jersey; born in 1813; resided in Millstone Township, Monmouth County, during the 1840s and 1850s (and probably later); was admitted to the New Jersey bar as an attorney in 1860; practiced law at Hightstown, Mercer County, and probably also (but for a shorter period?) at Cranbury in present-day Cranbury Township, Middlesex County; died in 1895, at which time he resided in Monmouth County.
