Herbert Art Gallery & Museum
Variant namesOne of the objectives of Coventry Arts and Heritage is to explore the cultural heritage of all the communities within Coventry. Because of this an exhibition was held in 2004 at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum about Asian cinema in Coventry. This was thriving from the 1940s. In the post-war years there was very little entertainment aimed at the Asian community, and the cinemas provided not only films but also a valuable social facility.
