Esther Bliss Taylor (1890-1980), wife of Oberlin College Physics Professor Lloyd William Taylor (1893-1948), was a tireless temperance crusader. A president of the Oberlin, Ohio branch of the WCTU from 1946 to 1976, Esther Bliss Taylor promoted local temperance initiatives and educational programs. She also participated in temperance efforts on the national, state and county levels. She was also active in politics and church activities in the Oberlin community.
