Amanda ("Andy") Zsolnay was the mother of Paul Zsolnay (1895-1961), who founded Paul Zsolnay Verlag in Vienna in 1923-1924. Paul Zsolnay was Werfel's publisher from 1923 to 1938; he was married to Alma's daughter Anna from 1929 to 1935. Andy Zsolnay was at least socially acquainted with Alma Mahler since before the founding of the publishing company; Paul Zsolnay was also friends with Alma's mother and stepfather, Anna and Carl Moll, and her half-sister Maria Eberstaller. Later Andy was friends with both Alma and Franz Werfel. After 1938, Andy Zsolnay was living in England with her son Paul and her granddaughter Alma Zsolnay.
