Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (Madras, Or.)
By the early 1950's, Lutheran families who had moved to Madras in Central Oregon realized that nearby churches were difficult to find. Three families consulted with the church in Prineville, and were able to receive Wednesday evening services from Rev. Humlie, as well as having their own Sunday School for adults and children, led by a layman. In 1953, the first service was held at Zacher Chapel Sunday, and before long they prolcaimed themselves Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In 1954, the Church was able to establish its own building.
