The mission of the Office of the Auditor General (formerly Auditor General's Dept.) is to improve the accountability of public funds and to improve the operations of State government for the benefit of the citizens of the State of Michigan. The Office is responsible for conducting post financial and performance audits of the State of Michigan's executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government, including its universities and community colleges.
