Lipman, Samuel, 1876-1931.
Samuel Lipman married Irene Lesser in San Francisco in 1901. Irene was the daughter of Jacob Lesser (1853-1910) and Julia Harris (1861-1924). Julia's parents, Isaac Harris and Rebecca Brodek, married in London in 1851 and Isaac came to San Francisco shortly thereafter (his wife and daughter followed later, though the child died during the journey). Isaac established himself as a tailor on Davis Street in San Francisco and was naturalized in 1866. Isaac and Rebecca had six children in San Francisco. Isaac died in 1879 at the age of 46 after being sanbagged on the streets of San Francisco. His wife, Rebecca, lived until 1912. Samuel Lipman was the son of Morris LIpman (d. 1898) and Rosalia Hirshfeld (1842-1921). The Hirshfeld family had origins in Schneidemuhl, Prussia.
