John Fahey is a Spokane historian who was written extensively on the history of the Inland Empire. A graduate of Gonzaga University, Fahey worked in various news positions in Spokane radio and television stations and was a professor of Radio-Television History at Eastern Washington State University. Author of numerous historical articles, Fahey has also published six books on Inland Empire history: Inland Empire: D.C Corbin and Spokane (1965); The Ballyhoo Bonanza: Charles Sweeny and the Idaho Mines (1971); The Flathead Indians (1974); The Days of the Hercules (1978); The Inland Empire: Unfolding Years, 1879-1929 (1986); and The Kalispel Indians (1986).

John Fahey (1919-2004) was a historian and prolific author. He published nine books and authored several articles. He attended Gonzaga University and Northwestern University and earned a Masters degree in journalism. He worked for several Spokane radio and television stations and worked as a TIME magazine stringer in the 1950s. During the 1960s he worked at Eastern Washington University as director of grants and research, as well as teaching in the Journalism and History departments, retiring in 1985.
